What you will do

• Set the technical direction, architecture, and roadmap for the data platform across BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, and Cloud Run.
• Design and optimize end-to-end production pipelines, balancing cost, latency, and data freshness.
• Define standards for data modeling using dbt and LookML to serve as a single source of truth.
• Mentor data engineers and analysts through code reviews, pairing, and technical workshops on TDD and Git internals.
• Champion engineering excellence by implementing modular Pytest suites and multi-stage CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate LLM tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to build AI-driven workflows that scale engineering throughput.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• Expert fluency in the GCP data stack, specifically BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, and Cloud Functions.
• Advanced command of the analytics layer, including dbt and Looker (LookML).
• Expert-level Python skills with a focus on idiomatic code and TDD.
• Strong experience with Git and designing automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven track record of technical leadership and mentorship through expertise and trust.

Nice to have

• Experience building evaluation harnesses for prompt-engineering and LLM sampling strategies.
• Fluency in Agile ceremonies and project management tools like Wrike.
