Robotics Software Engineer (ML and Grasping)

TL;DR

Robotics Software Engineer (ML and Grasping): Developing and maintaining software for robot grasping using a fusion of classical robotics and SOTA neural networks with an accent on gripper configuration and training pipelines. Focus on integrating ML models into physical robotic platforms and simulation-based testing to automate truck unloading.

Location: Hybrid (Charlestown, MA). Must be based in the US and work from the office at least three days per week.

Salary: $110,000 - $135,000 a year

What you will do

• Develop software for robot grasping, determining optimal gripper configurations and tool selection.
• Integrate, modify, and deploy SOTA ML models and create corresponding training pipelines.
• Collaborate with a small technical team and coordinate with perception and motion planning engineers.
• Utilize simulation tools like Isaac Sim and MuJoCo for development and system testing.
• Leverage AI coding assistants and modern workflows to maximize development output.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience implementing complete ML systems and cloud-based training pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with classical robotics concepts, including motion planning, geometry, and perception.
• BS degree required; MS in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work from the Charlestown, MA office at least three days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience applying ML specifically within robotic systems.
• Experience with simulation tooling such as Isaac Sim or MuJoCo.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Active use of AI coding assistants in daily workflows.
