What you will do

• Incorporate neural networks into the planning stack, collaborating closely with ML, perception, and systems teams.
• Evaluate how learned inputs influence planner performance via simulation and on-road testing.
• Architect fallback, hybrid, or arbitration strategies to ensure safety when ML models are uncertain or degraded.
• Design and implement new planning behaviors, search strategies, optimizations, and structural improvements.
• Write high-quality C++ code that meets real-time constraints for safety-critical deployment.
• Participate in code reviews and cross-team design discussions to ensure technical excellence.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in C++; Python proficiency is a plus.
• Experience integrating ML models or learned components into real-time systems.
• Strong background in robotics, planning, optimization, and mathematics (MS, PhD, or equivalent).
• Industry experience in robotics or autonomous driving.
• Experience working with large-scale or safety-critical systems with strict performance requirements.
