Electrical Design Engineer (Manufacturing)

TL;DR

Electrical Design Engineer (Manufacturing): Designing, developing, and building low and medium voltage switchgear for generator paralleling applications with an accent on industry regulations and safety standards (NEC, UL, ANSI). Focus on writing and validating PLC code for generator control systems and coordinating with CAD designers to produce technical assembly drawings.

Location: On-site in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA (5 days a week). Visa sponsorship and domestic relocation assistance are not available.

What you will do

• Interpret customer specifications and drawings according to industry regulations, including NEC, UL, and ANSI requirements.
• Create detailed bills of materials within the ERP system.
• Provide technical direction to purchasing and procurement teams.
• Collaborate with CAD designers to create precise wiring and assembly drawings.
• Support the production phase during equipment manufacturing.
• Write and validate PLC code for generator control systems using various communication protocols.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering.
• Proven experience in product design for manufacturing (MFG).
• Ability to convert customer and market requirements into functional product designs.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Alpharetta, GA 5 days a week.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• Electrical engineering degree.
• PLC experience with Schneider and/or Allen Bradley.
• Experience with UL508A control enclosure design.
• Knowledge of Power Engineering and Multi-Function Relay Programming/Operation.
