What you will do

• Lead controls engineering for manufacturing equipment and support systems at the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant.
• Analyze and implement product and machinery designs to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Direct the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes in assigned areas.
• Provide technical support for plant operations and collaborate with design, product, and manufacturing engineering teams.
• Manage salaried teams of engineers and coordinate with external vendors.
• Evaluate and monitor expenditures for processes and equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to Lansing, Michigan for full-time onsite work.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to work all 3 shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience managing salaried engineering teams.
• Proficiency in Robotics Automation, Rockwell Drives, and Allen Bradley PLC.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and reading equipment drawings.
• Experience working in a union environment.
