Senior Ground Software Engineer I - Secret Clearance (Aerospace)

Base pay: $132,000–$198,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop and evolve web-based software architecture for spacecraft operations.
• Work with flight software developers, operations personnel, and systems engineers to define requirements and functional needs.
• Deploy and configure the hirify.global Ground Data System.
• Establish monitoring and alerting to detect system degradation and outages.
• Identify ground systems issues and provide technical insight for resolution.
• Deliver ground system development and support for internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant software development experience with Python.
• 2–5 years of cloud engineering experience, including scalable cloud solution design, deployment, and management.
• Experience architecting web-based software applications.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• For US office work, candidates must meet applicable US Government ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

Nice to have

• Full-stack development experience with Python or Golang, TypeScript or JavaScript, Angular or React, and InfluxDB or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with FastAPI, microservices, Kubernetes, SQL, Git, ticketing systems, and database design.
• Experience supporting satellite, spacecraft, constellation, or launch vehicle mission operations.
• Experience with aerospace systems and CCSDS standards, including Space Packet Protocol and COP-1.
• Experience with cloud disaster recovery, backup solutions, and cost optimization.
