Salary: $186,000 - $279,000 USD

What you will do

• Embed with government customers to understand missions, scope problems, and develop working software.
• Own the end-to-end delivery process: designing, building, deploying, and maintaining solutions at customer sites.
• Build robust backend systems and data integrations connecting customer environments to Scale's platform.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to feed field signals back into the roadmap for reusable capabilities.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for customer stakeholders to guide adoption and maximize mission impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in customer-facing or government contexts.
• Strong production coding skills in Python and TypeScript.
• Comfort with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containers, Linux, and networking fundamentals.
• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and make trade-offs under pressure.

Nice to have

• Experience building or deploying systems powered by LLMs or generative models.
• Familiarity with Node, React, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
• Data engineering background covering ETL pipelines, data modeling, and data governance.
