Senior Software Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (C++/Embedded): Building high-performance infotainment and digital cluster systems for next-gen vehicles with an accent on embedded RTOS and Android environments. Location: Hybrid: Must report to Mountain View (CA), Austin (TX), or Warren (MI) at least three times per week

Salary: $138,000 – $175,000

What you will do

• Design and develop embedded C++ software for infotainment and digital displays including HUD and instrument clusters.
• Lead system-level architecture and integration for infotainment features across multi-display setups.
• Create scalable, reusable frameworks for UI rendering and system communication.
• Collaborate with hardware, product, and IT teams to define and implement system innovations.
• Optimize memory and CPU performance to ensure real-time responsiveness.
• Utilize Agile/Scrum practices for continuous integration and testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded or system-level software production environments.
• Strong proficiency in C++ development.
• Experience with ECUs and communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to Austin, Mountain View, or Warren.

Nice to have

• Experience with RTOS or automotive infotainment contexts.
• Knowledge of Unreal Engine or 3D display rendering.
• Familiarity with automotive debugging tools like CANoe or VehicleSpy.
• Experience with Android application framework or hybrid Android/RTOS integration.
