What you will do

• Develop and improve applied ML systems to identify customer readiness and recommend next-best actions in partner workflows.
• Engineer features from messy behavioral, conversational, operational, and CRM data to enhance model quality.
• Design offline and online evaluation metrics tied to business outcomes for both classical ML and Generative AI features.
• Prototype new models and evaluate trade-offs through careful experimentation and academic research.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate requirements into measurable objectives and production-ready solutions.
• Write clean, well-tested code for data preparation, training, and evaluation pipelines.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience applying machine learning to real-world problems in academic or industry settings.
• Strong fundamentals in supervised learning, ranking, classification, regression, and feature engineering.
• Experience designing and analyzing experiments with an evaluation-first mindset.
• Proficiency in Python and common ML tooling, writing maintainable and tested code.
• Experience working with imperfect, unstructured real-world datasets (text or event data).
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with NLP or language-data (messages, transcripts, notes).
• Experience evaluating LLM-based features using human evaluation or LLM-as-judge approaches.
• Experience in marketplace or workflow optimization (recommendation, ranking, prioritization).
• Proficiency with big data tools such as SQL, Spark, or Databricks.
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related field.
