What you will do

• Lead a group in developing performance metrics and conceptualizing new analysis methods to optimize on-track performance.
• Support exploratory studies and new GM motorsports ventures, including a potential Formula 1 program.
• Set group priorities, establish team culture, and manage the workload for four F1 Performance Engineers.
• Collaborate with GM software groups to implement prototype analysis methods into production tools.
• Guide the group's technical direction based on vehicle dynamics knowledge and industry advances.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience as a Performance Engineer or Vehicle Simulation Engineer.
• Extensive experience in motorsports series (NASCAR, IMSA, F1, IndyCar, and WEC) optimizing vehicle setups.
• Proficiency in programming with Python and MATLAB.
• Experience with professional simulation workflows, including offline and DIL simulators.
• Expertise in analyzing on-track performance using vehicle dynamics principles and statistical methods.
