What you will do

• Personally execute day-to-day IT operations and systems administration for M365, Azure, AWS, and various SaaS ecosystems.
• Partner with the Executive Director of Software & Data Systems to develop the multi-year IT strategy and growth roadmap.
• Maintain a strong security posture by implementing MFA, least privilege access, and managing patch cycles.
• Manage the full employee device lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and access provisioning.
• Coordinate and hold external MSPs and consultants accountable to standards for quality, security, and cost.
• Own incident and change management workflows, defining SLAs and managing software licensing and assets.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or infrastructure management.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Proven track record of supporting AWS and other cloud-based systems.
• Deep knowledge of security/compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA, or ISO 27001.
• Experience writing IT policies, operational standards, and procedural documentation.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in South San Francisco, CA

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, diagnostics, or biotech industries.
• Familiarity with Intune, Entra ID, Defender, and Vanta.
• Experience scaling IT functions within a startup or growth-stage company.
• Prior team leadership or people management experience.
