Public Cloud Assistant Infrastructure Engineer (GCP/Azure)

Location: Hybrid, with 40% or two days per week in the Halifax or Leeds office

Salary: £48,987–£54,430 per year

What you will do

• Support the design, build, and operation of cloud infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.
• Operate and enhance Kubernetes-based environments and container platforms.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines and contribute to Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
• Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and support incident resolution.
• Help implement security controls, access management, and governance standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, agile ceremonies, and an on-call rota.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, cloud, or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Ability to write or maintain scripts using Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience or exposure to Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, and understanding of GCP and/or Azure services.
• Basic understanding of Linux systems, networking, security principles, and strong collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Istio, GitOps, Harness, OPA Gatekeeper, or container security tools.
• Knowledge of shared platform services such as CoreDNS, cert-manager, Dynatrace, Infoblox, or Cloudability.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus or Dynatrace.
• Understanding of agile and DevOps ways of working.
