What you will do

• Build advanced Maya rigs for characters, creatures, and props that meet artistic and technical standards.
• Implement clean skinning, blendshapes, and complex deformation setups.
• Develop and maintain scalable rigging tools and technical solutions using Python and PySide.
• Collaborate with animation, CFX, and modeling departments to define best practices and improve the pipeline.
• Mentor mid and junior artists by providing technical support and reviewing their work.
• Troubleshoot and resolve rig and deformation issues during asset and shot production.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience in VFX or a related field.
• Expert-level rigging skills in Maya using joints, constraints, and utility nodes.
• Deep understanding of Matrix math and Maya architecture.
• Proficiency in Python and PySide for scripting and automation.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, deformation, and facial rigging setups.
• Experience with Git and GitLab or equivalent version control systems.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with OpenMaya and/or C++.
• Experience with USD rig publishing and referencing.
• Understanding of Houdini-based CFX.
