What you will do

• Create and maintain robust character, creature, and prop rigs tailored to animation department needs.
• Apply deep knowledge of human and animal anatomy to ensure appealing deformation and movement.
• Troubleshoot and proactively resolve technical rig issues during active production.
• Develop Python scripts to automate repetitive tasks and build custom rigging tools.
• Collaborate with Animation and Modeling departments to solve mesh and deformation challenges.
• Mentor junior artists and optimize department workflows (for Senior level).

Requirements

• Production experience: Junior (1–2+ years), Mid (3–5+ years), or Senior (5+ years).
• Strong technical foundation in Maya rigging and overall CG pipeline processes.
• Deep understanding of anatomy, joint placement, and mechanics to elevate character performance.
• Legal eligibility to work in British Columbia, Canada.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Linux and Python (required for Senior level).
• Working knowledge of PyQt.
• Experience with Flow Production Tracking (formerly ShotGrid).
