Technical Accounting Analyst (Finance)

Technical Accounting Analyst (Finance): Providing technical accounting support for a global edge-to-cloud company with an accent on US GAAP and SEC reporting. Focus on analyzing new accounting standards, documenting conclusions for complex transactions, and driving policy adherence.

Location: Hybrid (expectation to work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office)

What you will do

• Provide significant contribution to the technical accounting function and report to the Technical Accounting Manager.
• Analyze new accounting and disclosure requirements and support the adoption of new standards.
• Interpret US GAAP and SEC guidance for complex or unusual transactions and document conclusions in position memorandums.
• Drive adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Prepare technical materials for Executive Leadership.
• Lead process improvement and policy development initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business (CPA or MBA preferred).
• 4+ years of experience in a finance function.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles under US GAAP.
• Experience researching and interpreting complex technical accounting and financial reporting issues.
• Proficiency in business applications such as Microsoft Excel and SAP.
• Excellent project and people management skills.

Nice to have

• Big four public accounting experience.
• Experience with the technology industry and international companies.
• Knowledge of Restructuring, Product Financing Arrangements, Tax Incentives, Lease Accounting, and VIEs.
