Technical Accountant

TL;DR

Technical Accountant (US GAAP): Researching complex accounting standards, drafting technical memos, and guiding the organization on equity, stock-based compensation, revenue recognition, leases, and emerging product structures. Focus on building pre-IPO accounting infrastructure, establishing internal controls, and supporting audits in a fast-scaling environment.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary resource for US GAAP guidance across the organization on complex standards and new transactions.
• Research standards, draft technical memos, and defend accounting positions with auditors and stakeholders.
• Provide clear guidance to non-accounting teams on revenue recognition, equity, leases, and product structures.
• Contribute to building internal controls and public-company-ready accounting infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Financial Controller, Legal, FP&A, and external auditors.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 606, 718, 842, 805, 360, and related areas).
• Experience researching, drafting, and defending technical accounting memos.
• Experience with internal controls in pre-IPO or public company.
• CPA, ACA, or ACCA (active); Big 4 or public accounting background preferred.
• Ability to explain complex accounting to non-experts.

Nice to have

• Pre-IPO or public tech company experience with S-1 and PCAOB audits.
• Familiarity with multi-entity reporting, FX (ASC 830), intercompany eliminations.
• NetSuite or similar ERP experience.
