TL;DR
Staff Accountant (US GAAP/Financial Reporting): Supporting monthly, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close activities through journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, and financial reporting schedules with an accent on inter-company accounting, internal controls, and GAAP compliance. Focus on analyzing large datasets, resolving reconciling items, improving accounting processes, and coordinating with auditors and cross-functional departments.

What you will do
- Support the monthly, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement schedules.
- Upload required data into Cognos and support inter-company transactions and reconciliations.
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances, investigate account differences, and propose resolutions.
- Support process improvements, policy and procedure documentation, and internal control development.
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments, accounting management, and internal and external auditors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 2–5 years of professional accounting experience with strong accounting skills.
- Fluent English required.
- Working knowledge of general accounting functions and US GAAP principles.
- Basic understanding of Sarbanes–Oxley requirements and internal controls.
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and intermediate functions.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Public accounting experience.
- Experience in a global organization or software industry.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP and Cognos.
- IMCP or US CPA certification.
