What you will do

• Design structured cabling, network infrastructure, AV systems, security, fire alarm, clock/bell, and emergency communication systems for K–12 projects.
• Prepare construction documents, system layouts, riser diagrams, and technical specifications using AutoCAD/Revit.
• Coordinate designs with architects, MEP engineers, consultants, and participate in OAC meetings and client presentations.
• Perform construction administration including submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, and punch lists.
• Ensure compliance with TIA/EIA, NEC, NFPA, ADA, BICSI standards, and state/local requirements like DSA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent)
• 3–10+ years of experience in low voltage systems design
• Experience with K–12 or institutional projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit/BIM preferred)
• Strong coordination, communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects

Nice to have

• RCDD (BICSI), CTS/CTS-D (AVIXA), NICET, or PE license
• Experience with E-Rate funding, wireless design (Ekahau), manufacturer certifications (Cisco, Crestron, Extron)
• Familiarity with AV, security, life safety systems, and structured cabling standards
