Senior Financial Analyst (Finance)

TL;DR

Senior Financial Analyst (Finance): Managing financial analysis, reporting, and business insights across multiple divisions of an industrial packaging group with an accent on budget vs. actuals and variance analysis. Focus on translating complex financial data into actionable business insights and partnering with leadership to drive strategic decisions.

Location: On-site (5 days/week) in Toronto (Etobicoke / Airport area)

Compensation Range: CA$90K - CA$110K

A profitable, family-run group of companies in the Industrial Packaging and Distribution space based in Canada.

What you will do

• Own financial analysis, reporting, and business insights across all company divisions.
• Partner with the VP Finance & Controller and leadership to identify performance gaps and drive decisions.
• Manage monthly reporting packages and conduct detailed performance analysis.
• Proactively investigate variances and identify trends within large datasets.
• Translate financial data into clear, actionable business insights for non-finance stakeholders.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Financial Analysis or FP&A.
• Strong expertise in budget vs. actuals, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex modeling.
• Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor Prophet 21 is a strong asset).
• Deep understanding of financial statements and business drivers.
• Must be based in and able to work on-site in Toronto (Etobicoke/Airport area).

Nice to have

• CPA certification or currently pursuing one.
• Experience in industrial distribution or product-based businesses.
• Exposure to COGS-heavy environments and inventory management.
• Experience working within a multi-entity corporate structure.
