Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Engineering & FinOps)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Go/Next.js): Building FinOps tooling and cloud onboarding experiences to optimize cost and performance for a multi-cloud enterprise with an accent on developer experience and cost governance. Focus on developing billing data pipelines, cost analytics engines, and self-service onboarding portals.

Location: Hybrid: Must report to Austin, TX or Warren, MI three times per week

What you will do

• Design and develop an in-house Cloud Onboarding and FinOps Portal using Next.js and Go.
• Build billing data ingestion pipelines for major cloud providers including Azure, GCP, and AWS.
• Create utilization metrics, cost analytics, and optimization recommendation engines.
• Implement frictionless, self-service cloud onboarding workflows for engineering teams.
• Lead technical decision-making and architecture discussions for scalable, cloud-native services.
• Conduct code reviews and uphold high engineering standards across the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience focusing on building cloud-native applications and platforms.
• Proficiency in Next.js (or React) for frontend and Go for backend services.
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines, APIs, or backend services in a cloud environment.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship (e.g., H-1B, TN, STEM OPT) now or in the future.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of experience, including 2+ years specifically in FinOps or internal developer platforms.
• Experience with Terraform (IaC), GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
• Deep familiarity with FinOps principles (showback/chargeback models, FOCUS format).
• Proficiency with SQL, data pipelines, and recommendation engines.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry (Otel) and Datadog.
