General Assembly Technician

TL;DR

General Assembly Technician (Automotive): Construct sub-assemblies from components and perform vehicle-level general assembly with an accent on quality metrics, timing, and refinement. Focus on diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, reading technical manuals and schematics, and maintaining safety standards.

Location: Onsite in Warren, MI (full-time). US Citizenship required for Secret U.S. Security Clearance. No immigration sponsorship (H-1B, TN, STEM OPT, etc.).

What you will do

• Ensure a safety-first environment and lead safety initiatives.

• Construct sub-assemblies and perform vehicle-level general assembly to quality and timing standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues during assembly, documenting for engineering review.
• Read and interpret service procedures, technical manuals, engineering drawings, and schematics.

Requirements

• 3+ years of automotive or aerospace experience in vehicle/component assembly or repair.
• HS diploma with relevant work experience, technical coursework/training, or professional certifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of automotive repair/assembly tools, methods, and quality expectations.
• Ability to work through critical issues independently and in a team.
• Verbal and written communication skills for peers and management.
• Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and pass Motor Vehicle Report review.

Nice to have

• Part fabrication, sheet metal, composite, or metal machining.
• Prototype project and vehicle build experience.
• Working knowledge of TeamCenter, NX, & Vis Mockup.
• Understanding of Microsoft Suite.
• Associate degree in related field or Trade School Certification.
• Current or past U.S. Security Clearance.
• Military experience.
