What you will do
- Investigate severe frequency excursions in low-inertia situations to minimize the risk of cascading faults and blackouts.
- Develop advanced emergency load control and shedding algorithms utilizing grid-forming inverters.
- Conduct model development and simulations in an RTDS environment.
- Perform Hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) testing using modern IEDs with frequency and voltage protection.
- Design new System Integrity Protection Schemes (SIPS) by utilizing synchrophasors.
Requirements
- MSc degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
- Strong expertise in System Integrity Protection Schemes, frequency and voltage stability, and wide area monitoring.
- Mastery of EMT-based software tools, specifically RTDS and HiL testing.
- Affinity with programming and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent English language skills.
- Must be based in or relocate to Delft, Netherlands.
