TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (C++): Leading the development of next-generation cloud video services for sports officiating and replays with an accent on high-performance video frameworks and distributed environments. Focus on architecting modular C++ frameworks, optimizing multithreaded code, and solving complex synchronization and transcoding challenges using FFmpeg.

Location: Hybrid (minimum 2 days a week in the office), Budapest, Hungary

Salary: 1.5M - 2.2M HUF Monthly

What you will do

• Own the technical roadmap for core C++ video frameworks to ensure modularity and scalability.
• Develop high-performance, multithreaded C++ code for local and distributed environments.
• Solve complex synchronization and transcoding challenges utilizing FFmpeg.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and lead technical design discussions.
• Partner with product teams to deliver optimized solutions for live global sports.

Requirements

• Mastery of modern C++ (up to C++20) and extensive experience with multithreaded, performance-optimized code.
• Deep expertise in video codecs, containers, and the FFmpeg library.
• Proficiency with Git, Visual Studio, and advanced debugging workflows.
• Proven ability to lead technical direction and navigate stakeholder requirements.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Budapest, Hungary.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda) and containerization.
• Knowledge of GPU acceleration (NVIDIA NVENC/NVDEC).
• Familiarity with network protocols such as SRT, RIST, or WebRTC.
• Experience with Qt and OpenGL.
• Passion for sports or experience in high-performance, high-reliability environments.
