What you will do

• Independently underwrite a wide range of mortgage loans (FHA, VA, USDA, and conventional) using AUS and manual analysis.
• Ensure all loan files meet HUD, FHA, investor, regulatory, and internal guidelines.
• Analyze credit, income, assets, and collateral documentation to determine loan eligibility and risk.
• Review supporting documents to make accurate and timely underwriting decisions for loan approval or rejection.
• Collaborate with internal operations, clients, and brokers to gather necessary documentation.
• Meet company SLAs for loan turnaround times and file quality standards.

Requirements

• Active DE/CHUMS and LAPP/SAR certification.
• Minimum 5+ years of mortgage underwriting or lending experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience with manual underwrites.
• Deep knowledge of residential mortgages (Conventional, VA, FHA, USDA, Non-QM).
• Understanding of federal regulations such as RESPA, TILA, and Dodd-Frank.
• High school diploma required.

• College degree.
• Proficiency with Encompass loan origination system.
