What you will do

• Lead the Aurora Serverless v2 Control Plane team, managing people, products, and technical delivery.
• Define the team's roadmap and align goals with product management and Aurora leadership.
• Provide technical direction for a distributed system orchestrating petabyte-scale data sets and cross-continent replication.
• Mentor and coach junior and intermediate engineers to become established contributors.
• Review technical designs and shape design documents to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Manage operational ownership and participate in manager on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Experience in engineering team management and a strong background in software engineering.
• Knowledge of engineering practices for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle (SDLC).
• Experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
• Proven ability to partner with product and program management teams.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Dublin, Ireland

• Experience in recruiting, hiring, and mentoring teams of software engineers.
• Strong communication skills for collecting requirements and presenting product strategy to senior leadership.
