Staff Engineer (Revenue)

Location: Remote in North, Central, and South America

What you will do

• Own the technical vision and long-term architecture for the Revenue Zone, including billing, subscriptions, payments, and checkout.
• Define pricing primitives and data models that enable rapid pricing and packaging changes.
• Lead high-impact initiatives such as decoupling billing from account systems and consolidating pricing infrastructure.
• Ensure the resilience, observability, and absolute correctness of revenue-critical systems.
• Influence API design, data modeling, and caching strategies to optimize for scalability and developer experience.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and raise the technical bar across the organization.

Requirements

• Proven engineering impact in complex, production systems at scale (typically 8+ years of experience).
• Strong domain knowledge in billing systems, subscription management, payment processing, or financial platforms.
• Expertise in designing APIs for multiple consumers and resolving performance bottlenecks.
• Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives and aligning stakeholders in ambiguous environments.
• Fluency with AI coding tools and the judgment to apply them responsibly in high-correctness domains.
• Must be based in North, Central, or South America.
