Manager, Software Engineering (Automotive Embedded): Lead a team of software and algorithms engineers in developing embedded software for Vehicle Interface Processor and VCU products with an accent on rapid prototyping, feature delivery, and cross-functional collaboration. Location: Hybrid in Oshawa, Ontario (expected to report to office three times per week minimum). GM does not provide immigration sponsorship.

Salary: $147,000 to $196,600

What you will do

• Lead and direct a large team of technical employees to deliver engineering objectives for camera-based vehicle features.
• Initiate, prototype, and test new features and technologies on vehicles.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, TPMs, program managers, and MLops on embedded software development.
• Manage project responsibilities including developing and releasing embedded features in Agile environment.
• Coordinate architecture, requirements, design, code, and test reviews; perform code reviews and defect analysis.
• Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring, mentoring, and training to grow the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related.
• Minimum 5 years in automotive product development.
• Experience developing or leading complex camera-based features.
• Full development lifecycle experience: requirements, systems design, backend integration.
• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills; prioritize in high-pressure settings.
• Experience with Scrum/Agile and SCM tools like GitHub.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in relevant field.
• Experience with vehicle infotainment or trailering systems.
• Prior leadership of embedded software teams.
• Experience with automotive electronic devices.
