Senior Data Scientist/Engineer (AI)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; full-time on-site at a secure government facility during standard business hours, with occasional extended support for demos or deployments.

Salary: $192,000–$200,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end development of NLP and entity-extraction models for cyber data.
• Prototype and integrate generative AI solutions to automate insight generation.
• Support data engineering by parsing raw logs and preparing feature sets.
• Define data-quality standards and validation criteria with cyber subject-matter experts.
• Translate user stories and requirements into technical specifications and test plans.
• Implement, document, evaluate, and maintain reproducible Python data-science workflows while presenting findings and incorporating stakeholder feedback.

Requirements

• Active U.S. security clearance at TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 4–8 years of hands-on data-science experience, including algorithm development and model deployment in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python and its data-science ecosystem, including pandas, scikit-learn, and PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Expertise in NLP techniques such as tokenization, named-entity recognition, and embedding models.
• Proven ability to implement entity-extraction pipelines.
• Familiarity with generative AI frameworks and experience with machine learning.
• Experience with ETL, data cleansing, feature engineering, and other data-engineering fundamentals.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences, plus demonstrated experience with cyber or security-related datasets.

Nice to have

• Experience with big-data platforms such as Spark and Hadoop and stream processing with Kafka.
• Familiarity with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government intelligence-community environments.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
