TL;DR

2nd Shift Production Coach (Supervisor) (Manufacturing): Lead and supervise 2nd shift production team in space and defense manufacturing with an accent on safety enforcement, quality standards, and workflow optimization. Focus on motivating employees, leading problem-solving, coaching performance, and achieving production goals and schedules.

Onsite – Blacksburg, VA. 2nd shift: Monday-Thursday 3pm (10-hour shift), Friday 2pm-8pm or 9pm.

Salary: $60,000–$80,000 Annually

What you will do

  • Ensure safety protocols, equipment use, housekeeping, and emergency response.
  • Motivate and lead team in structured atmosphere, handle hiring, promotions, discipline.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving and root cause corrective actions.
  • Monitor workflow, optimize efficiency, develop production goals and schedules.
  • Track performance metrics, coach employees, provide feedback and training.
  • Develop budgets, quality improvement processes, stay updated on manufacturing techniques.

Requirements

  • Onsite in Blacksburg, VA, 2nd shift schedule.
  • Associate degree + 2 years leadership or high school diploma + 6 years direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and quality control standards.
  • Excellent communication and team management skills.
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

  • Prior manufacturing experience.
