TL;DR

Technical Lead Manager (AI): Leading the development of AI-powered customer experience agents across voice, email, chat, and SMS with an accent on agentic architectures, orchestration, and LLM integration. Focus on defining technical strategy, shipping production-ready AI agents, and mentoring a senior engineering team.

Location: 100% remote for candidates currently based in Canada. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and reside in the country.

Salary: 188,080 - 207,878 CAD

What you will do

  • Define the AI technical strategy for CX, including evaluating and selecting frameworks, platforms, and vendor solutions.
  • Own the technical roadmap for AI-powered agents across voice, email, chat, and SMS channels.
  • Write code, review PRs, prototype new capabilities, and debug production issues alongside the team.
  • Partner with Product, CX, and Ops to identify and implement AI agents that replace or augment manual workflows.
  • Design reliable, production-scale agent architectures involving orchestration, tool use, and guardrails.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of senior engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and innovation.

Requirements

  • Must be based in Canada and legally authorized to work in the country.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams.
  • Proven experience developing and shipping LLM-powered, conversational AI, or agentic systems in real-world environments.
  • Deep systems design expertise with a focus on reliable, observable, real-time services.
  • Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, RAG, tool usage, and orchestration frameworks.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with conversational AI infrastructure such as telephony, messaging APIs, or chat platforms at scale.
  • Experience with AI/ML evaluation and observability, including instrumentation for quality and drift detection.
