What you will do

• Conduct pre-product research to develop and advance cutting-edge NGS technologies.
• Lead research projects to design and demonstrate the feasibility of novel nucleic acid based diagnostic methods.
• Plan and execute complex laboratory experiments, analyzing data to refine project direction.
• Coordinate the execution and analysis of experiments in partnership with statistics and bioinformatics teams.
• Propose and implement innovative solutions to overcome technical challenges and advance research objectives.
• Provide regular updates on project progress and outcomes to ensure departmental alignment.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent in molecular biology, genomics, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of industry experience post-Ph.D., or at least 1 year following postdoctoral research.
• Hands-on experience with NGS technologies and sample preparation (DNA/RNA extraction, library prep, target enrichment).
• Proven track record of advancing NGS technologies from initial concept to product development.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical testing using Excel, JMP, R, or Python.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Austin, TX.
