What you will do

• Design, develop, and validate automated high-throughput NGS assays for commercial CLIA laboratories.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis on automation, reagents, and equipment failures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define assay specifications and quality metrics.
• Write documentation and SOPs, and train laboratory operators on new protocols.
• Oversee validation activities and identify opportunities for continuous workflow improvement to shorten turnaround time.

Requirements

• BA/BS with 6 years or MS with 3 years of experience in genomics assay development and automation.
• Demonstrated track record of developing and validating automated protocols for CLIA.
• Strong understanding of nucleic acid extraction, PCR, NGS library preparation, and hybrid capture technologies.
• Experience optimizing and troubleshooting high-throughput automated assays using liquid handler robots.
• Proficiency in data analysis using JMP.
• Must be based in or be able to work onsite in Austin, TX.

Nice to have

• Coding skills in Python or R.
• Experience working in regulated environments under CAP, NYSDOH, or IVD.
