What you will do

• Conceptualize, design, and implement automated solutions and integrated systems for robust NGS assay performance.
• Develop standalone instruments and integrated platforms for laboratory automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of scientists and software engineers to deliver automated platforms.
• Provide high-level technical support for developed processes at both the instrument and assay results levels.
• Manage relationships with external contractors and lead by example within the development team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related scientific field.
• 4+ years of experience in laboratory automation engineering.
• Technical proficiency in robotics and liquid handling systems within the life sciences industry.
• Location: Austin, TX.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Background in NGS or clinical laboratories.
• Experience in software programming, data handling, and database work.
• Experience working with LIMS systems.
