What you will do

• Design and develop new equipment and fixtures with a focus on ergonomics, reliability, and production scale.
• Create and revise equipment documentation and update control systems to improve repeatability and robustness.
• Develop automated test equipment solutions and author Gauge R&R protocols to validate test methods.
• Perform root cause analysis on non-conforming equipment to resolve production line issues.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, electrical, and software engineers to ensure system compatibility.
• Manage equipment projects, including setting timelines, allocating resources, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) with 5+ years of experience, or MS with 3+ years.
• Experience leading equipment projects in medical device or capital equipment manufacturing within regulated industries.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and mechanical drawings, specifically using SolidWorks.
• Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate designs using 3D printing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and root cause analysis for mechanical assemblies.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in San Jose, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with milling machines, lathes, and bandsaws.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers.
• Basic coding experience for equipment automation applications.
