Product Engineer

TL;DR

Product Engineer (Optics Manufacturing): Take technical ownership of process chains and products in series production and pilot phases for EUV and DUV lithography systems with an accent on problem-solving, process optimization, and KPI improvement. Focus on analyzing product issues, implementing manufacturing concepts, performing risk analyses, and collaborating with global D&E teams.

Location: Berlin, Germany (onsite at Berlin Neukölln site)

What you will do

• Analyze and resolve product issues, implement solutions, and ensure stable performance in series production.
• Understand core processes, functional requirements, and interdependencies in process chains.
• Implement manufacturing concepts and improve KPIs like yield, rework, cycle time, and cost.
• Review and adjust product specifications in collaboration with D&E teams globally.
• Assess changes, perform risk analyses, support NPI projects, and develop rework strategies.
• Evaluate deviations and damages on components, decide on further use, and manage documentation in SAP.
• Maintain reference sample catalog, provide test parts, and build networks with manufacturing, engineers, and product owners locally and globally.

Requirements

• Based in or able to relocate to Berlin, Germany (moving expenses reimbursed from 100 km distance)
• Degree in natural sciences or engineering (e.g., mechanical engineering, materials science, production technology) or equivalent.
• Initial professional experience in technical environment, ideally manufacturing or production.
• Understanding of process chains, tolerances, and core processes; familiarity with Six Sigma, SPC, PDCA, Continuous Improvement.
• Ability to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes focusing on KPIs (yield, rework, cycle time, cost).
• Business-level German and English for collaboration with local and international teams
• Experience in risk analyses, change management, and SAP or similar ERP systems.
