What you will do

• Lead end-to-end development of backend systems from architecture, design, implementation, deployment, to monitoring.
• Design and evolve scalable APIs and platform services supporting interoperability and partner ecosystems.
• Build data integration solutions using standards like FHIR and authentication protocols such as OAuth, SAML, SCIM.
• Own system observability, performance, reliability, and troubleshoot scalability issues in distributed services.
• Mentor engineers via code reviews, design discussions, and best practices promotion.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering to refine requirements and deliver solutions.

Requirements

• At least 5+ years of software development experience.
• Deep expertise in building and scaling RESTful backend services in production.
• Expertise in SaaS products in cloud (preferably AWS) with containerized apps (Docker, ECS, EKS).
• Proficiency with Ruby on Rails, GoLang, Python (Flask/FastAPI), and relational databases like Postgres.
• Strong understanding of testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and agile teams.
• Experience with authentication frameworks (OAuth, SAML) and APM/logging (Datadog, New Relic).

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare or social care.
• FHIR experience.
• Experience with frontend JavaScript frameworks like React.
