What you will do

• Lead system design and architect scalable data ingestion pipelines for large-scale healthcare datasets.
• Develop reusable, containerized pipeline components and configuration-driven toolsets.
• Design and maintain data transformation pipelines using dbt, utilizing macros, incremental models, and tests.
• Champion AI-assisted development by establishing workflows for tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot.
• Build monitoring and alerting systems to ensure pipeline health and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting software engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on large-scale ingestion and infrastructure.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and AWS services.
• Proven track record of building production-grade ETL processes using Python and DBT SQL.
• Must live in and be eligible to work in the United States.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and distributed data processing.
• Demonstrated success directing AI agents to generate complete software solutions with disciplined review.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, 834, 837, NCPDP) and regulatory environments (HIPAA).
