TL;DR

1st Line NOC Team Lead (Networking/Security): Lead shift team in managing case queues, escalations, and SLA compliance for secure networking infrastructure with an accent on advanced troubleshooting, incident resolution, and proactive optimizations. Focus on handling complex multi-vendor network/security incidents, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvements in processes and tools.

Location: Fully remote (UK). Planning to open office in West Yorkshire area in the future.

What you will do

  • Lead on-shift team, oversee case queues, workload allocation, escalations, and SLA compliance using ServiceNow.
  • Handle complex networking/security incidents, perform advanced troubleshooting, configurations, and lead major incidents (P1).
  • Mentor team, conduct 1-2-1s, review QA outputs, and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and managers on root-cause analysis, permanent fixes, and service improvements.
  • Monitor trends, identify optimizations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Connect (telecoms) and Secure (networking) specialisms, with overflow across portfolio.

Requirements

  • UK-based for remote work.
  • Strong networking fundamentals (OSI, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, SD-WAN, SASE).
  • Practical experience with ServiceNow, LogicMonitor; Cisco IOS, Fortinet firewalls, Juniper, Meraki, Aruba.
  • ITIL knowledge, advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis for multi-vendor issues.
  • Leadership skills: team management, mentoring, stakeholder communication, prioritization under pressure.
  • IT-related qualification (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Fortinet FCA).

Nice to have

  • Experience with MPLS, VPN, SASE/SD-WAN deployments.
  • Willingness to obtain relevant certifications.
