Senior Software Engineer (Infrastructure)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure (AI/MedTech): Design, build, and operate platform primitives—compute, networking, storage, CI/CD, and developer tooling—with an accent on reliability, security, efficiency, and developer experience. Focus on implementing container orchestration at scale, improving observability and automated remediation, optimizing costs, and leveraging agentic AI tools like Claude Code.

Location: Boston or Remote. Must have an eligible work permit in the USA or Canada to be considered.

Base Salary Range: $185,000 to $230,000

What you will do

• Steward core platform services: implement container orchestration, service mesh, ingress, and secrets management at scale.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data, and Security teams to deliver value.
• Harden reliability: improve observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and automated remediation for availability and latency.
• Automate infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code and configuration management for repeatability and security.
• Scale cost-effectively: optimize cluster utilization, autoscaling, storage, and networking.
• Build internal tooling, templates, and golden paths to enhance developer experience and reduce time-to-deploy.
• Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, post-mortems, and evolve CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• 5+ years in software engineering focused on infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Eligible work permit in the USA or Canada.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically Kubernetes.
• Understanding of observability: metrics, logs, traces, actionable alerts, and SLOs.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Programming experience in at least one modern language.
• Awareness of security fundamentals: IAM, workload identity, network policies, encryption, secrets management.
• Team-focused mindset with strong collaboration and communication skills.

• Open source contributions.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Building and managing CI/CD systems and developer tooling.
