What you will do

• Conduct archaeological pedestrian surveys and subsurface testing.
• Perform data collection using GPS, photographs, site forms, sketches, and artifact measurements.
• Prepare high-quality field notes and records.
• Work independently or as part of a team in diverse terrains, hiking up to 5-10 miles per day.
• Handle other fieldwork duties as required, including overnight travel and remote camping.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or related field.
• At least 6 months of archaeological field experience or field school.
• Experience with archaeological survey and excavation.
• Valid driver's license; ability to lift 50 pounds; pass drug & alcohol testing.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to work outdoors in all weather.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (subject to exemptions) as federal contractor.
• Access to laptop for timesheets and reports; GPS and navigation skills preferred.
