What you will do
- Lead hydrogeologic investigations including design and oversight of deep production wells, ASR systems, and pumping tests.
- Collect and interpret lithologic and geophysical data to refine conceptual site models and aquifer properties.
- Serve as expert liaison with Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) and Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) for water supply determinations and permits.
- Manage full project lifecycle from proposals and budgeting to subcontractor oversight.
- Design characterization programs for managed aquifer recharge sites with mounding analysis.
- Support environmental compliance through groundwater assessments and permit applications.
- Mentor junior staff in well logging, sampling, and hydraulic testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Geology, Hydrology, or Geological Engineering; Master’s preferred
- Registered Geologist (P.G.) in Arizona or reciprocity within 12 months
- 10+ years in hydrogeology, water resources, or remediation
- 2+ years leading technical teams or large field programs
- Advanced proficiency in aquifer test analysis (AQTESOLV), well design, and GIS
- Proven technical writing for reports, permits, and proposals
- Ability to balance field and office work; pass drug & alcohol testing
Nice to have
- Expertise in zonal groundwater sampling and borehole geophysics
- Familiarity with Arizona Active Management Area (AMA) regulations
- Experience with large-diameter production wells (1,500+ feet)
- Strong data management for regional hydrogeologic datasets
