Oil and Gas Manager, Methane Pollution Prevention (Environmental Policy)

What you will do

• Lead and support engagements with government entities to develop and advocate for policies promoting methane reduction in the oil and gas sector.
• Conduct policy research and technical analysis to support the development of effective regulatory frameworks and mitigation plans.
• Utilize the Country Methane Abatement Tool (CoMAT) to estimate emissions and mitigation potential for governments.
• Author technical reports, white papers, blog posts, and presentations to communicate findings to key stakeholders.
• Plan and execute outreach campaigns, webinars, and capacity-strengthening workshops.
• Cultivate and manage partnerships with NGOs, industry, academia, and government-based stakeholders.

Requirements

• BSc/BA degree (MSc/MA or advanced degree preferred).
• 6+ years of professional experience in the fossil fuels industry or within a regulatory agency for the fossil fuel sector.
• 6+ years of experience in methane, greenhouse gas, energy, or environmental research, including policy advocacy.
• Knowledge of international energy and climate policies with regional expertise.
• English mastery (C2 level).
• Legal work authorization in the country of residence (no sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Portuguese, Arabic, or Russian (C2 level).
• Proven experience in climate policy design.
• Experience working with NGO coalitions or international institutions.
• Successful track record in international environmental advocacy.
