ADAS Design Release Engineer (Cameras)

TL;DR

ADAS Design Release Engineer (Cameras): Managing the design, requirements, and validation of ADAS camera hardware and calibrations for vehicle integration with an accent on supplier management and technical specifications. Focus on root causing system issues, driving design for manufacturing (DFM) initiatives, and ensuring vehicle program imperatives are met.

Location: Hybrid (Warren, MI) - must report to the office at least 3 times per week

What you will do

• Define technical specifications and requirements for ADAS cameras, including hardware and calibrations.
• Lead formal design, peer, and quality reviews and resolve technical issues.
• Manage supplier resident engineers and interface with the Purchasing organization for sourcing.
• Conduct vehicle Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and implement engineering changes.
• Plan and implement validation programs and release subsystems for production.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and other internal departments to optimize cost and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in camera development and vehicle integration.
• Strong understanding of camera design, optics, construction, and operation.
• Knowledge of engineering mechanics, physics, metallurgy, and manufacturing methods.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to Warren, MI.
• No immigration sponsorship provided; must have valid US work authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience with other Automated Driving sensors such as Lidars, Radars, or Ultrasonic Sensors.
• DFMEA training and DFSS Certification.
• Knowledge of Team Center Systems Engineering or IBM DOORS requirements management tools.
• Prior experience in calibration or HIL test methods.
