TL;DR

Systems Engineer - TS/SCI (IT Cable Plant): Provides systems engineering, design, installation, testing (transport only), and documentation of secure/non-secure telephone, video, data, transport, and computer network systems for Schriever AFB organizations. Focus on determining technical solutions for NIPR, SIPR, Telephones and Red Switch systems, ISP/OSP Backbone cabling, and ensuring integration with local, Air Force and DoD architectures.

Location: 100% on-site in the Colorado Springs, CO area. Must maintain a current TS/SCI clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.

Salary: $86K to $140K

What you will do

• Determine technical solutions for NIPR, SIPR, Telephones, Red Switch systems, and ISP/OSP Backbone cabling including specifications for equipment, hardware, copper and fiber optic connectivity.
• Conduct physical and virtual surveys of communications pathways, inside/outside plant, communication rooms, server farms, and distribution points.
• Provide testing to assess functionality of communications transport/systems equipment and suggest enhancements.
• Maintain documentation in Phoenix Database and CIPS Visualization Component capturing physical topologies and architecture.
• Perform problem analysis, technical assessments, and identify operational impacts.
• Interface with contractors, government agencies, and prepare reports, procedures, and design support for agreements.

Requirements

• Must maintain current TS/SCI clearance requiring U.S. citizenship.
• 2-3 years project management experience.
• Knowledge of Cable Databases such as Phoenix and CIPS.
• Visio and AutoCAD experience required.
• Expert change manager with strong leadership, documentation, and communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License; ability to perform site surveys including confined spaces.
• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred, minimum 7 years relevant experience or equivalent.
