Forward Deployed Accountant (AI)

Location: New York City, NY; hybrid workplace. Travel to customer sites required as needed, up to 30%.

What you will do

• Build, configure, test, and document AI Agents that automate low- to medium-complexity accounting workflows.
• Deliver training, workshops, guided build sessions, and office hours for corporate accounting teams.
• Help customers identify automation opportunities, assess feasibility, and scope use cases.
• Troubleshoot Agent configurations, validate inputs and outputs, and coordinate technical escalations.
• Support partner-led implementations and share customer feedback to improve the product.
• Train internal team members on Transform’s Agent-building tools and technical best practices.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or accounting operations.
• Strong familiarity with reconciliations, journal entries, variance reviews, and month-end close activities.
• Experience with workflow automation, system optimization, or technology-enabled accounting processes.
• Familiarity with data-flow, API, and accounting-system integration concepts.
• Strong communication and organizational skills for customer training, workshops, documentation, and enablement.
• Willingness to travel for customer training and enablement engagements.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or a degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience with professional services, finance transformation, process optimization, ERP systems, or accounting close processes.
• Familiarity with LLM-based agents, RPA tools, AI workflow builders, SQL-based reporting, and API integrations.
• Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Resident Consultant, or Embedded Solutions Architect.
• Background in SaaS platforms focused on finance transformation, compliance, or accounting automation.
