Mainframe DB2 Support Specialist

What you will do

• Manage and support IBM DB2 database environments to maintain availability, performance, and security.
• Monitor database health, investigate technical inquiries, and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Optimize DB2 performance to meet operational targets.
• Implement database security best practices and support backup, recovery, and availability processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents and support business requirements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in DB2 database administration or support, preferably in mainframe environments.
• Proficiency with IBM DB2 administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Intermediate English proficiency required for technical documentation, incident reporting, and collaboration with global teams.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
• Exposure to regulated or high-availability enterprise environments.
