What you will do

• Audit patient billing data to ensure accurate CPT and ICD-10 documentation for the billing process.
• Analyze operational data and create reports to identify trends, ROI, and provide summaries for leadership decision-making.
• Perform charge entry, approvals, and quality reviews, including appending modifiers and checking clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and resolve charge deficiencies, missing charges, and duplicate entries.
• Educate providers and colleagues on appropriate coding and documentation standards.
• Maintain charge reconciliation processes for assigned departments to ensure daily and monthly accuracy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or physician practice environment focusing on revenue cycle, billing, or coding.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, data entry, and regulatory guidelines related to healthcare charging.
• Must be available to work a rotational weekend approximately every 6 weeks.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Coding credentials such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC/COC, or AAPC.
• Licensure as a Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Practical Nurse (LPN).
• CHC (Healthcare Compliance Certification) or CHRI certification/membership.
