What you will do

• Lead technical commissioning of DER sites, coordinating single-line diagrams, control scheme documentation, and SCADA release letters.
• Conduct interoperability validation for vendors to ensure field devices meet strict compliance and SQCDM requirements.
• Provide Tier 1 technical support for the DERMS platform, triaging complex cases and managing vendor patches.
• Maintain critical system integrations including Weather APIs, GIS/ADMS interfaces, Apigee Gateways, and IAM protocols.
• Manage application certificates, TLS/PKI infrastructures, and authentication for secure grid-to-cloud communication.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to provide technical inputs for feeder forecasting and Demand Response programs.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of IT experience with enterprise-grade software application platforms.
• Expert-level knowledge of IEEE 2030.5 protocol and DER field devices.
• Extensive experience managing Hybrid Cloud environments, preferably Azure.
• Deep understanding of Transport Layer Security (TLS) using PKI certificates and API integration (REST, MuleSoft, Apigee).
• Must be based in or able to work in Oakland, CA.

Nice to have

• 2–5 years of experience within the Electric Utility sector (Distribution or Transmission).
• Familiarity with utility tools: SCADA, OMS, DMS, CYME, GIS, or OSISoft PI.
• Azure Fundamentals or related cloud certifications.
