What you will do

• Own the technical vision and strategy for the QuickBooks Design System, leading the design of complex UI infrastructure.
• Architect highly scalable and performant component libraries, optimizing rendering performance and bundle sizes.
• Drive Developer Experience (DX) by identifying and eliminating technical barriers to ensure a flawless upgrade path for consuming teams.
• Champion accessibility by ensuring WCAG 2.1+ compliance and integrating accessibility into the product roadmap.
• Integrate AI/GenAI tools into the foundational architecture to solve complex cross-team problems and increase productivity.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, and Design stakeholders to orchestrate complex tech integrations and UI specifications.

Requirements

• Extensive experience owning technical vision for scaling widely consumed component libraries or design systems.
• Expert knowledge of React, TypeScript, CSS, Git, and Figma.
• Deep expertise in frontend performance optimization and the headless UI ecosystem.
• Profound understanding of accessibility standards (ARIA, WCAG, screen readers).
• Experience with component documentation platforms such as Storybook.
• Based in New York or Bay Area, CA.
