TL;DR

Customer Category Manager (Retail): Developing and implementing category strategies for Value Retailers and Discounters across Europe with an accent on assortment optimization and in-store execution. Focus on building the VCC category management setup from scratch and improving shelf productivity.

Location: Amsterdam Hub based (Netherlands). Hybrid model (up to 50% remote).

What you will do

  • Build the Value Retailers/Discounters (VCC) category management framework, including ways of working and performance routines, from the ground up.
  • Develop tailored assortment and pack/price architectures to improve shelf productivity and rotation.
  • Design shopper and in-store activation plans to drive incremental volume and trade spend efficiency.
  • Co-create Joint Business Plans (JBPs) by providing category targets and key growth levers.
  • Analyze category performance (sell-in, sell-out, market share) to provide strategic recommendations.
  • Act as the VCC category expert for internal stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Category Management, Customer Marketing, or Trade Marketing.
  • Must be based in or able to work from the Amsterdam Hub (Netherlands).
  • Fluent English proficiency required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic business recommendations.

Nice to have

  • Experience working specifically with value retailers or hard-discount environments.
  • Previous experience working within an international Hub environment.
